Sound familiar? It is worth a call.
- Multiple drains backing up at once
- Sewage in the yard or a soft, green patch over the line
- Roots on the cable every time the line is cleared
- Gurgling toilets across the house
- Sewer smell outside the house
Every sewer job starts with a camera inspection and a locator, so you see the break, the roots, or the belly and know exactly where it is. Then three options. Spot repair opens one section for a single cracked joint. Pipe bursting pulls a new seamless HDPE line through the path of the old one, breaking it outward, through two pits instead of a trench. Cured-in-place lining installs a new pipe wall inside the old one when the pipe is sound but leaking at joints. We handle the city sewer connection permit and the inspection.

Book a camera inspection. We record it and show you the footage.
Written quote per option: spot, trenchless, lining.
Trenchless replacement usually finishes in one day. You are back on the sewer that night.
City inspection and backfill. Pits are restored.
What this county does to plumbing.
Laterals installed before the mid-1980s here are mostly vitrified clay with mortar joints or cast iron, and both fail the same way: root intrusion at the joints, then a break. Mature trees on older lots in La Mesa, Point Loma, Escondido, and Vista make it worse. The homeowner owns the lateral to the city main, including the section under the sidewalk in most jurisdictions. Trenchless matters here because so many laterals run under driveways, mature landscaping, and in some neighborhoods the street. Bursting replaces the whole run without touching any of that.
Flat, in writing, before we start.
Camera inspection is quoted flat. Repair is quoted flat per option once we have seen the line. The quote includes permits, inspection, and restoring the access pits. One-year labor warranty on the work, plus manufacturer warranties on HDPE pipe and liner materials.
Camera pricing is flat: $335 through an existing cleanout, or $435 where there is no cleanout and we go through a roof vent or by pulling a toilet. Either fee is credited toward the work if you proceed with our quote. A real estate sewer inspection for due diligence is $199.

Answered straight.
Do I own the sewer line to the street?
In most San Diego cities, yes, to the connection at the main. The city owns the main.
Trenchless or dig?
Trenchless when the line is under something you want to keep. Dig when the break is shallow, accessible, and a single spot.
How long does trenchless take?
Usually one day for a residential lateral.
Will you show me the camera footage?
Yes, before you decide anything.
Can you just clear the roots again?
Yes, and we will if you ask. But roots come back through the same joint, and each clearing widens it. The footage will show you whether you are on the third clearing or the last one.
Is there a permit?
Yes, for any lateral replacement. We pull it.
