Sound familiar? It is worth a call.
- You want to stop running out of hot water with a full house
- Your tank heater is due and you want the replacement to last
- Your tankless throws an error code or cycles cold
- Flow drops when two fixtures run at once
- Your tankless has never been flushed
Installation covers sizing by fixture count and groundwater temperature, gas line evaluation and upsizing when needed, venting, condensate drain, isolation valves so it can be flushed, and the permit. Conversions from tank to tankless are the most common job and the one most often done wrong by someone who skips the gas line.
Repair covers error codes, ignition failure, flow sensors, scale-choked heat exchangers, and venting faults. Annual descaling is the maintenance that keeps the unit out of the repair column, and we schedule it.

Book a sizing visit. We count fixtures, check the gas meter and line, and confirm the vent path.
Flat quote in writing, including any gas work and the permit.
Install is typically one day. Conversions run longer if the gas line needs upsizing.
We commission the unit, set the temperature, and show you the isolation valves.
What this county does to plumbing.
Tankless heat exchangers are narrow passages. San Diego's hard water scales them faster than anywhere the manufacturers test, and an unflushed unit here loses efficiency in the first year and fails in the fifth. Annual descaling is not optional in this county. A softener or a scale inhibitor upstream changes that math and we will quote both together.
Gas line sizing is the other local trap: a lot of 1970s North County homes run a half-inch line to the water heater location, and a 199,000 BTU tankless needs three-quarter inch. Skipping that step is why some tankless units “never worked right.”
Flat, in writing, before we start.
Quoted flat after the sizing visit. Gas line work, venting, and electrical for the unit are called out as separate lines so you can see what the conversion costs versus the unit. Repairs and descaling are quoted flat per visit. One-year labor warranty on all of it.

What Our Customers Are Saying
5.0 · Based on 70 reviews![]()
Answered straight.
Is tankless worth it for my house?
For a household running back-to-back showers, laundry, and a dishwasher, usually yes. For two people in a condo, often no. We size it and tell you.
Will my gas line handle it?
Maybe. Many older San Diego homes need the line to the heater upsized. We check at the sizing visit so it is in the quote, not a surprise.
How often does it need flushing here?
Once a year. Skip it and scale will shorten the life of the unit and void most manufacturer warranties.
Can you repair my existing tankless?
Yes. Ignition, flow, scale, venting, and control board faults on the major brands.
Does it need a permit?
Yes, and the gas work needs its own inspection in most cities. We pull both.
How long does installation take?
One day for a straightforward replacement. A tank-to-tankless conversion with gas and vent work can run two.
