Whole-Home Repipe in San Diego: PEX or Copper, Done in Days
New supply lines through the whole house, wall to fixture, in two to four days. We patch the drywall we open. You choose PEX or copper with the tradeoffs explained.
- 24/7, no after-hours upcharge
- One-year labor warranty
- CA License C-36 #1157656

Sound familiar? It is worth a call.
- Second or third slab leak
- Rust-colored water first thing in the morning
- Pressure that drops when two fixtures run
- Original galvanized pipe in a pre-1970s home
- Pinhole leaks showing up in different rooms
A full repipe replaces every hot and cold supply line from the main to each fixture. We run the new system through attic and walls, not the slab, which means the next leak is not under concrete. PEX is the default: flexible, fewer joints, quieter, and resistant to the mineral scaling that kills copper here. Type L copper is available if you prefer it and we will explain where each makes sense. Every repipe includes new angle stops at each fixture, a new main shut-off, and a pressure regulator if the existing one is dead. We pull the permit, open the walls, run the pipe, pass inspection, and patch the drywall to paint-ready.

Walkthrough and flat quote. We count fixtures, map the runs, and give you PEX and copper prices side by side.
Day one: water off, walls opened at mapped points, new lines run.
Day two or three: connections, pressure test, city inspection.
Drywall patched and textured. Water is off for hours, not days.
What this county does to plumbing.
Two pipe stocks fail here. Galvanized steel in homes built before roughly 1970 rusts from the inside until the pressure is a trickle and the water runs orange. Copper in homes built 1965 to 1990 gets pinholed by high municipal pressure and aggressive water, and when it was poured into the slab the leaks are expensive to reach. Either way the house is on a clock. A repipe resets it for the life of the home and takes the slab out of the equation. Most cities in the county require a permit and a pressure test inspection for a repipe, and we schedule both into the job.
Flat, in writing, before we start.
Quoted flat per house after the walkthrough, with PEX and copper as separate numbers. The quote includes permit, inspection, and drywall patching. Nothing is added after the walls are open. One-year labor warranty on the work and the manufacturer's warranty on the pipe, which for PEX is typically 25 years.

Answered straight.
PEX or copper?
PEX for most homes here. It ignores hard water, has fewer joints, and costs less. Copper if you want it or a specific situation calls for it. We quote both.
How long is the water off?
Usually a few hours on the final day. You stay in the house throughout.
Do you fix the drywall?
Yes. Patched, textured, ready for paint. Painting is yours.
Do I need a permit?
Yes. We pull it and meet the inspector.
What about the drains?
A repipe covers supply lines. Drains are a separate system. If your cast iron drains are also failing we can camera them and quote cast iron replacement at the same time.
Will this fix low pressure?
If the cause is corroded galvanized pipe, yes, completely.
